Our Services
At DHOD, it’s far more than “just a cleaning”. Our focus is on disease prevention and your overall health — and that starts in the mouth! Together we will create a custom care plan that suits your specific needs in order for you to maintain a healthy smile.
Complete Oral Assessment
At your first visit to Dental Hygiene on Demand, we will review your medical and dental history with you and we will focus on your specific concerns and provide you with a personalized treatment plan to help improve your oral health. You will receive a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and supporting structures as well as any necessary referrals.
Oral Cancer Screening
Oral cancer screening may be the best way to detect oral cancer early. We will thoroughly assess your head and neck as well as your mouth to examine for any abnormalities and educate you about risk factors and how to detect potential problems.
Dental Scaling
The physical removal of plaque and calculus (tartar) above and below the gumline. This will help promote healthy teeth and gums.
Polish/Stain Removal
The removal of surface stain on your teeth caused by coffee, red wine, tobacco, and other food, drinks and environmental factors. Polishing will leave your teeth feeling super-clean!
Fluoride Varnish
Fluoride helps to strengthen tooth enamel and therefore decreases the risk of cavities. Its use is ideal for developing teeth up to 18 years old as well as on teeth that are susceptible to decay.
Desensitization
A fluoride varnish is used to help block the tubules that send the signal of sensitivity to the nerve of the tooth thereby decreasing overall sensitivity and pain! Woohoo!
Referrals
We will provide you with any necessary referrals to other dental professionals including general dentists, periodontists, orthodontists, paedodontists, endodontists (root canal specialists), and oral pathologists.
Custom Fit Sportsguards
Mouthguards prevent injuries incurred when you receive contact to the face or mouth. In addition to your teeth, they also protect your mouth, gums, cheeks, tongue, and jaw.
Whitening
Brighten up your smile with our professional in-office whitening treatment or try our take-home whitening kits. Plus, ask us about our 15-minute whitening “boost” after your cleaning!
Sealants
Sealants are a low-cost way to protect your teeth from decay. They are a tooth-coloured material that are most commonly placed on the molars of children ages 6 – 12, sealing out decay caused by foods, beverages, and bacteria in the pits and grooves of the teeth.
Oral Hygiene Education
Oral Hygiene Education - The dental aisle in your pharmacy can be overwhelming. We will help you choose the right products for your oral health and teach you how to use them most effectively.
